The short version: we use your information to quote, plan and complete your move. We share it only with the services that help us do that. We do not sell your personal information.
What We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
- Move details: pickup and drop-off addresses, your move date, home size, stairs, elevators, parking, the items you're moving and any notes you add.
- Photos and videos: pictures or videos of your home and belongings that you send us so we can count your items, plan your crew and quote your move.
- Booking and payment details: when you sign your estimate and pay, you do it in our scheduling software's secure customer portal. Card payments are handled by its payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our website.
- Messages: what you tell us by phone, email, text or our forms, including damage claims.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: your browser type, device type, pages you visit, how you got to our site and general location (city level). This comes from cookies and similar tools (see Cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads).
- Ad and campaign tags: if you click one of our ads or links, the web address may include a tag (for example a Google click ID or campaign name) that tells us which ad or link brought you here.
Address lookups
When you type an address into our quote tool, it is sent to Google Maps services to suggest the full address and estimate drive times. Google's use of that information is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
Why We Use It
- To give you a quote, book your move, plan your crew and truck, and do the job.
- To contact you about your quote and move by phone, email or text (texts only if you agree; see Text Messages).
- To take payment, handle damage claims and keep business and tax records.
- To send occasional emails about moving tips, reviews, referrals or offers (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To understand how people use our website and which ads work, so we can improve both.
- To protect our customers, our team and our business, and to follow the law.
Who We Share It With
We share your information only with companies that help us run our business, and only what they need to do their job:
- Our scheduling and customer software, which holds your quote, booking, inventory and job details.
- Its payment processor, which handles card payments through the customer portal.
- Google, for Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Maps address lookups.
- Our email provider, which sends our emails and newsletters.
- Our phone and texting provider, which carries our calls and texts.
- Our referral program provider, if you join our referral program or a friend refers you.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, to resolve a claim or dispute, or if our business is sold or merged (the new owner would have to follow this policy).
We do not sell your personal information, and we never sell or share sensitive information.
Cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads
Cookies are small files your browser saves when you visit a website. We use them, and similar tools, to understand how our site is used and to measure our ads.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google. It uses cookies and similar technology to collect information about how visitors use our site, such as pages viewed, time on the site, the device and browser used and how you found us. Google processes this information for us and gives us reports. We do not send your name, email address or phone number to Google Analytics.

Google Ads
We use Google Ads to show our ads and to count how many people contact us or book after clicking an ad. Google uses cookies to do this. If we show ads to people who have visited our site before, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to show you our ads on other websites based on your past visits. This means Google may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ad Settings.
Your cookie choices
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block cookies, our site will still work, but some features may not work as smoothly.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, so we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. You can still use the cookie choices above.
Text Messages
- We text you only if you agree, for example by checking the text-message box on our quote form or asking us to text you.
- We text about your quote and your move (for example, scheduling, arrival times and follow-ups). Message frequency varies.
- Agreeing to texts is never required to get a quote or book a move.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any text to opt out. Reply HELP for help, or call (512) 676-5375.
- We do not sell or share your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties for their marketing. Your mobile information is used only to send you our messages.
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link. Click it and we'll stop sending you marketing emails. We'll still email you about a quote or move you've asked for.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your information only as long as we need it to quote, plan and complete your move, handle any claim, and keep the business and tax records the law requires. Photos and videos you send are used to plan and quote your move and to help with any claim. When we no longer need information, we delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.
How We Protect It
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, such as secure (HTTPS) connections, password-protected business accounts and limiting access to the team members who need it. No website or system is 100% secure, so we can't promise that information will never be accessed without permission. If you think something is wrong, contact us right away.
Children
Our website is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Texas Residents
We do not sell personal information, and we do not sell sensitive information. If you'd like to know what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, email info@butterbrothersmoving.com or call (512) 676-5375. We may need to keep some records (for example, for taxes or an open claim), and we'll tell you if that's the case.
Other Websites
Our site links to other websites, such as our scheduling software's customer portal, our referral program and Google. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If the change is a big one, we'll also post a notice on our homepage.
